Luca Schenato and Alessandro Pasuto, from the IRPI Padova section, are co-authors of an article appeared in Scientific Reports (from the publishers of Nature) entitled “Distributed optical fiber detection for early detection of shallow landslides triggering”. The paper describes an experiment carried out on a physical model of a shallow landslide monitored with a distributed fiber optic strain system for the measurement of the strain field at the sliding surface.
