CNR IRPI is involved in the research on debris flows in the Gadria Creek, instrumented by the Civil Protection Agency of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. In the last weeks, two debris flows have been recorded by the monitoring system, including the experimental station Almond-F, which is being  test of warning algorithms. Almond-F has detected the occurrence of both debris flows, by activating a flashing light and switching it off at the end of the event. Debris flows were detected some tens of seconds before the arrival of the main debris-flow front at the monitored cross section.

Personnel of CNR IRPI was at the monitoring site when the second debris flow occurred on July 27, and participated in monitoring and documentation activities.
