On May 28, 2016, starting from 9:30 am, a conference on “Hydrogeological or seismic disasters” will be held in Rometta Marea (ME) at the Satellite Building of the Municipal Delegation. The conference is organized by the International Volunteer Rainbow Group (GIVA), in collaboration with CESV-Messina and the sponsorship of the Municipality of Messina, Civil Protection of the Sicilian Region, CNR-IRPI, University of Messina, Legambiente Sicily, Studio Centre Diodoro, Kiwanis.

Moderator of the Conference is Tonino Battaglia, journalist of the Gazzetta del Sud.

Among the others, the following contributions are scheduled in the program:
Giulio IOVINE, Stefania PASCALE and Valeria RAGO – Identification of areas potentially affected by landslides: from inventory to susceptibility maps.

Oreste Giuseppe TERRANOVA, Stefania PASCALE and Paola Caloiero – Forecasting landslides triggered by rainfall.

Salvatore Gabriele, Francesco and Valeria CHIARAVALLOTI RAGO – Monitoring and short-term forecasting of storms and of their ground effects along transport infrastructures.
