Background

The project activities were carried out in two phases:

1. delineation of flooding-prone areas for many river reaches selected in the secondary hydrographic network of Tiber River basin (2009-2011);
2. analysis of the severe flood event that affected the Paglia river basin on November 2012.

Purpose

1. preparation of flood hazard maps for selected river reaches in the Tiber river basin (investigated return periods: 50, 100, 200 and 500 years);
2. Reconstruction and analysis of hydro-meteorological data of the event of November 2012 in the Chiani-Paglia river basin: evaluation of hydrological response and estimated discharge in each
   hydrometric site of interest and delineation of flooded areas.
