In the Sila Grande massif (northern Calabria, Italy) a landslide involving deeply weathered gneiss was investigated. The landslide which is 6.5 acre in area has been active for at least 60 years. It is representative of a type of landslide widespread in the crystalline Calabrian rocks. The slide, though it has been quiescent or little active for over twenty years, is far from being stabilized. -from English summary
