Between 4th and 7th December 2106, research scientists from our Institute will lead a delegation of the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR), Taiwan, led by Prof. Hongey  Chen, in the areas hit by the recent earthquakes in Central Italy.

The Taiwanese delegation will visit the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) and the Command and Control Directorate (Dicomac) of Rieti, established by the Itlian National Department of Civil Protection.

In Rieti, researchers of the  Inter-University Centre for Three Dimensional Seismotectonics Analysis — CRUST, led by Prof. Giusy Lavecchia, and of the CNR Institute of Environmental Geology and Geoengineering, will illustrate to the Taiwaneese delegation on aspects of the seismotectonic of the Central Apennines, and on seismic micro-zoning activities in Italy.

Thanks to the collaboration of theDepartment of Civil Protection, the NCDR delegation will have the unique opportunity to visit some of the towns most affected by the recent distruttive earthquakes in central Italy.
