MSc. in Geology, he achieved his PhD at the University of Torino, defending a thesis on the monitoring of geo-hydrological instability phenomena. Researcher at the IRPI of Turin, is mainly engaged in the development of new methodologies and instrumentation suitable for monitoring of geo-hydrological instability phenomena. The main application areas are the integration of monitoring networks for a more effective understanding of the controlled landslides and the development of early warning systems. Research activities aimed to the definition of a more efficient communication strategy of the results of the monitoring networks as support for decision makers in emergency situations have been carried out in the last years. Another important ongoing research topic is related to the development of methodologies for the survey and monitoring of geo-hydrological instabilities with UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle)
