The article concerns the effects of climate change on the cryosphere and in particular on the glaciers of the Sesia Valley. These glaciers lost half of their area since 1850 and their fronts have retreated considerably. Cristina Viani, research fellow at the CNR IRPI of Torino, contributes since 2012 to monitor the glaciers of Sesia Valley as a volunteer of the Italian Glaciological Committee.
