The palaeoenvironmental interpretations of coastal caves and speleothemes here discussed dealing with some examples from the south-east Salento (South Italy). Marine stillstands and glacio-eustatic speleogenesis control and climatic influences on both phreatic overgrowth and calcareous tufas speleothemes are stressed.
