Luca Ciabatta è nato a Perugia nel 1985. Nel Maggio del 2012 consegue la laurea magistrale in Scienze e Tecnologie Geologiche presso l’Università degli studi di Perugia con la votazione di 110/110 e lode. Nel Febbraio del 2013 vince una borsa di studio presso il CNR-IRPI di Perugia dal tema “Ricerche applicate, servizi di monitoraggio e modellistica idrologica per la stima del contenuto d’acqua del suolo per la mitigazione del rischio idrogeologico”. Da Dicembre 2014 a Marzo 2018 è assegnista di ricerca presso il CNR-IRPI di Perugia. Da Aprile 2018 è ricercatore presso il CNR-IRPI. A Giugno 2018 consegue il dottorato di ricerca (votazione Eccellente) in Ingegneria Civile ed Ambientale presso l’Università degli Studi di Firenze e l’Università Tecnica di Vienna.

Premi e Riconoscimenti

• 2021: “ESA–EGU Earth Observation Excellence Award” given by European Space Agency and European Geosciences Union recognising the IRPI-Hydrology Group for an outstanding contribution to the innovative use of Earth Observation in Hydrology.
