Other Activities
He has delivered lectures on hydrogeological risk topics in several first- and second-level University Master’s programs organized at the University of Calabria, as well as in training courses for civil protection operators organized by FORMEZ (Rome) and by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department of Civil Protection.
He has collaborated with the University of Calabria (CAMILAB laboratory – Laboratory of Environmental Cartography and Hydrological Modeling), where he coordinated the Working Group for the Agreement between the University of Calabria and the National Department of Civil Protection, regarding the application of landslide and flood forecasting models.
He is a member (since the XXXIII cycle) of the Board of Professors of the PhD program in “Environmental, Construction and Energy Sciences and Engineering (S.I.A.C.E.)”, now Geology, Engineering and Science of Sustainable Earth and Energy Transition (G.E.S.E.T.) – University of Calabria.
He has been a member of the Permanent Steering Committee of the degree programs of the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Calabria.
From December 1, 2018 to May 31, 2023, he served as Head of the Cosenza Secondary Office of CNR-IRPI.
From January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019, he served as President of the Cosenza Territorial Research Area of CNR.
Co-supervisor of numerous bachelor’s and master’s theses at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Calabria on hydrogeological risk topics, and of one PhD thesis in Hydraulic Engineering – XX Cycle – at the Politecnico di Milano, as well as Scientific Supervisor of several Research Fellowships at CNR-IRPI – Cosenza Office.
Member of numerous examination committees for research collaboration grants on topics including: land degradation phenomena, desertification processes, extreme hydrological events, analysis of geotechnical data, and slope stability assessments in urban areas.
Author/co-author of numerous works published in international and national journals, or presented at national and international conferences/workshops, on climate trends, drought, soil water erosion, desertification, and extreme events.
