Landslide Risk Reduction: CNR IRPI has been appointed as World Centre of Excellence

CNR IRPI has been appointed as World Centre of Excellence on Landslide Risk Reduction (WCoEs)  by the International Consortium on Landslides (ICL), for the years 2017-2020, in regard to the theme “Methods and tools for landslide forecasting and risk mitigation and adaptation strategies”. The nominations follows the proposal presented by CNR IRPI last year, which, after a technical evaluation by an ICL Committee, and the endorsement by an Indipendent Panel of Experts, was supported by the Assistant Director-General for Natural Science of UNESCO. Yesterday, within the framework of the activities of the first day of the 4th World Landslide Forum, at Ljubljana (Slovenia), CNR IRPI was officially recognized WCoEs 2017-2020.
