Born in Rome on January 23, 1960.
Degree in Geological Sciences in December 1981 at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, with dissertation of Applied Geology on slopes stability.
Collaborated in the years 1982-1986 with the Soil Mechanics Laboratory of the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Rome, getting experience in Soil Mechanics.
Since April 1st 1986, Researcher at the Institute for Hydrological and Geological Disaster Prevention of National Research Council (CNR) in Cosenza (Southern Italy), working on Applied Geomorphology.
In 1988 she moved to the Institute of Applied Geology of National Research Council (CNR) in Padova (Italy), where, at present, she is working on the subject of debris flows.
Author of 45 papers.
Collaborates to several national and EC (DFR, THARMIT) research programmes, in the field of debris flows and landslides.
Experiences:
In 1987 member of the Technical Commission for the study of hydrological and landslide risk in Valtellina (Northern Italy) by the National Department for Public Safety.
Visiting Senior Fellow in february 1993 at the Department of Civil and Mining Engineering di Wollongong (Australia), presenting during this period, two seminars on debris flows.
Helding several National and International Symposiums.
ITASCA Software Training in Geoengineering, Vienna, 18-29 Novembre 1998.
Seminar for the Master in Land Protection and Management, Faculty of Agricoltural Sciences, University of Padova, in March 2002.
Co-supervisor of some experimental degree thesis on landslides and debris flows.
