The OGRS2016 symposium (Open Source Geospatial Research & Education Symposium) has been held in the period 12-14 October 2016 in Perugia (Italy). The CNR IRPI was in charge of the organization of the event
Almost 100 researchers, professors and technicians, frequently coming from abroad (Europe, USA, midele east) have attended the symposium, that has been carried out in the headquarters of the local administrative region. More than 200 authors/researchers have submitted 55 contributions to the symposium. These are and will be published in a specific PeerJ collection freely accessible ( link to PeerJ collection »).
At the end of the scientific sessions a number of workshops has been attended by around 40 participants.
